AbstractPolydopamine film which contains amine groups and phenolichydroxyl groups exhibits fully reversible, pH-switchablepermselectivity for both cationic and anionic redox-active probemolecules. At high pH the film has a net negative charge thatexcludes anions but passes cations; at low pH it is positivelycharged and excludes cations but passes anions.
