AbstractOleic acid-modified CuS nanoparticles were chemically synthesized.The tribological properties of surface modified and unmodified CuS nanoparticles asadditives in the hybrid polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE)/Kevlar fabric/phenoliccomposite were investigated in detail. The experimental results indicated that theincorporation of modified CuS nanoparticles improved the antiwear ability of thefabric/phenolic composite at varied loads and environmental temperatures. The rea-sons for the enhanced wear properties of the fabric/phenolic composite filled withsurface-modified CuS nanoparticles were discussed based on the results of scanningelectron microscopy and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy.
